The
most frequent questions we receive have to do with issues concerning the
foot, and
plantar fasciitis is the most common of the diagnosed issues.
 |
Plantar
fasciitis is a condition that results from overstretched, or
ruptured plantar fascia (connective tissue) on the bottom of the
foot. The condition may be present in one foot only, but can
also be a bi-lateral (both) foot condition. Described
symptoms are minor to severe pain of the plantar fascia each
morning, while weight bearing, until soft connective tissue is
stretched out. Walkers and runners often complain of pain just
under the heel bone during weight bearing, and after exercise. Plantar
Fasciitis can be a manageable condition |
with
the
use of a combination of orthotic devices and stretching exercises. First,
and most importantly, one should use a full
length insole to correctly position and support
the arch, thereby allowing the plantar fascia to be automatically
stretched and supported while walking or running. The Sports
Medicine Store Insoles are manufactured orthotics engineered to
produce biomechanical
stabilization, support and comfort for the entire foot.
Concurrently, a night
splint should be employed when sleeping to maintain the plantar
fascia in a stretched position at night. The combination of the two
orthotic devices and proper stretching exercises can provide successful
management of the condition for a majority of the population affected by
Plantar Fasciitis. Let us help you successfully manage this
condition.
